With the rise of the Covid-19 pandemic and the closing of gyms and training facilities, our training routines have been thrown off. As an internationally competitive athlete, my main priority is the health and performance of my body.
My usual weekly training schedule looks something like this:
- Four fencing practices
- Three private lessons
- Three Lifting sessions
- Two-three conditioning sessions
Obviously, my schedule has been thrown off. It's easy to focus on the things we can't do but I'm trying to emphasize the things I can do. I can still do yoga, go for a run, ride a bike, and practice footwork.
Lifting weights has been a bit harder to manage. But I believe it's very important for my own health and performance and I've come up with a few ways that I can get that training stimulus.
Here's what you need to perform a simple at-home workout without traditional workout equipment:
- one regular cooking pot
- two water jugs
- two hand towels
Here's a quick workout you can do with these simple props!
